Dr. Khitam Muhsen is Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, School of Public Health at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel.
She completed her training in epidemiology at Tel Aviv University, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Vaccine Development, University of Maryland School of Medicine, in the United States.
Prof. Muhsen’s main research interest is epidemiology of infectious diseases, enteric diseases and vaccines, with emphasis on rotavirus and Helicobacter pylori infection. With the emergence of COVID-19, Prof. Muhsen’s work focuses on understating the epidemiology and transmission of the infection.
Her research has been supported by competitive awards and grants (e.g., the Council for Higher Education, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Israel Science Foundation, Israel-US Binational Science Foundation, Ministry of Health, Israel National Institute for Health Policy and Health Services Research).
Prof. Muhsen is the author of 80 original articles published in international peer reviewed journals, and of other additional scientific publications.
